The WordGirl website is specially designed to promote a love of language and words while extending the basic principals of WordGirl. Each exciting game and activity will expose children to new and empowering words in an appealing way. The connection between language and thinking that children gain by building a broad vocabulary has a direct impact on their literacy learning, especially reading comprehension. Our goal is that your children will find themselves using new words in daily conversation and develop a love of language.
The WordGirl website is a giant game
in and of itself. We want kids to feel they are actually
in the world of WordGirl where they can control and
play within various elements of her world. The web
experience stays true to the television program. For
example, the Games Page is designed to
feel like an actual amusement park. Beyond the main
activities, there are other classic mini-games such
as “Dunk Huggy” or “Test Your Strength.”
